Planned maintenance is announced in the client at least 48 hours in advance. Synchronisation queues survive a restart; transfers resume from the last acknowledged block rather than starting again.

Degraded behaviour

When the storage backend is under sustained load, the service sheds background replication before it sheds interactive streaming. Clients will report synchronisation as delayed while playback continues normally.
